ABT Treuhand group, which started its activity in Zurich, has conducted its business in Hungary since 1993. At present the Hungarian enterprise employs more than 50 highly educated staff members with up-to-date knowledge who speak various foreign languages. It serves more than 300 clients from about 23 countries.
1980: The Beginnings in Switzerland
The first company of our group was established by Mr Andreas Baumann in Zurich in 1980, where the financial culture has renowned traditions. The business started to deal with finance, taxation, and accounting of predominantly local and international companies in Switzerland.
The name of our company is made from the initials of its founder, Mr Andreas Baumann and that of the word 'Treuhand'. The word 'Treuhand' used in German-speaking countries refers to a service provider that deals with the finance and taxation of its clients discreetly and of highly professional quality.

Our enterprise, which started its activity in the 80s, dramatically improved and thus we have become the adviser for several international corporation groups. Managed by Mr Andreas Baumann we have created a special company culture, which is caracterized by outstanding integrity and ownership.
We have reached success rapidly with this mentality, and due to personal recommendations acquired a big clientele relatively fast. More and more renowned businesses placed their trust in our expertise and we have got more and more significant assignments.
1993: New Trend - Budapest
As a child Mr Andreas Baumann got acquainted with a Hungarian boy, who went to Switzerland in 1956. Through him did he get to know Hungary and showed admiration for it. Through several charitable projects in the 80s he closer got acquainted with the country.
After the change of the regime, when more and more foreign companies started their business activity in Hungary too, a good opportunity presented itself for the group to open an office in Hungary too, and be of service to these mainly Western European corporations. Thus the relationship between Switzerland and Hungary has become stronger.
The first typewriter of our company from 1980
Our office in Budapest named Andreas Baumann and Co. LLC began its activity in 1993, and took over the Swiss working methods and principles, which we can say on the basis of experience gained over more than thirty years, have paid off at home too.
As a second step our audit firm was established in 1996. Our aim was to provide good quality and reliable auditing service to international, mainly German companies.
The management of the Hungarian group was taken over by Mr. József Láng in 2001. At that time our firm worked in two separate fields, and since 2005 four branches of business (accounting, payroll accounting, tax advise and audit) have been provided. This structure was augmented in 2012 by the risk management branch led by Mr. Ferenc Smohay.
The youngest member of the ABT Treuhand group, the ABT Adatbiztonsági Tanácsadó Kft., was founded in 2017. The new enterprise is comprised of IT professionals who have some 10 years' experience and are specialized in data protection, as well as legal experts who are skilled in data protection law. One of their most important service fields is consultation on the EU data protection provision called GDPR.
